Election time in Maple!
It has been a lovely start to the term getting to know your children this week!
In maths Sugar Maple have been practising their number bonds to 30 and Field Maple have been looking at how we can show numbers in different ways including making our own tens bundles!
In English we have started learning our story map for Little Red Riding Hood including competitions between the class for the best retelling of the story! Girls vs Boys and left vs right!
In topic we have discovered what we already know about our new topic ‘Bugs and Dinosaurs’ and the children have asked questions about what they would like to find out.
In RE we have been looking at the Bible and how it is a special book to Christians and will be looking at this more soon!
Maple class have held their very own election to choose their Student Council representatives. All children who were interested gave a speech to the class then we did a heads down and hands up vote. It was a very close contest and Leighton and Joycieleigh were elected and will be representing Maple for the year. Remember there will be a chance to do this again in Year 3.
Star of the week this week is Imogen for impeccable behaviour and setting an example to the rest of the class.
Learner of the week is Lexie for continuing to try hard with her work even though she found it difficult at first.
There was a fantastic response from this week’s homework and I have absolutely LOVED reading your summer holiday recounts! I really hope we can keep this up!
Have a fantastic weekend everyone!
