Another fabulous week in Sycamore class, with lots of exciting activities.
In Maths, we have been working hard at ordering and comparing numbers, and moved onto counting in 25s!
In English, we have come to the end of our journey stories, and I am looking forward to reading them all!
In Topic, we have all taken part in some role play around the Roman invasion of Britain. We pretended to be a Celtic tribe sitting around our fire, who had just heard the news the Romans were coming to invade! We reacted in our roles as Celts, and decided the best course of action! Some children decided they wanted to protect the iron, gold and silver that the Romans thought we had here in Britain. Eleanor even had a go at being the tribal elder herself!
In RE, we have been continuing to learn about the Sikh religion. This week, taking a focus on the Baisakhi festival, the celebration of the Sikh New Year. The Sikh’s celebrate their New Year in many different ways, including eating holy food, praying and dancing. So, we tried some of our own Punjabi dancing to their music get a feel for the Sikh festival and holy day.
All in all, another great week.
Have a fantastic weekend! Miss Burke.
