Salt – our local history
Hawthorn class have enjoyed this week!
We have enjoyed writing personification poems in English and sharing these within the class.
In maths, we have worked hard finding the perimeter of rectangles and using our knowledge to find missing widths and lengths!
On Tuesday, we enjoyed our class trip to Lion Salt Works. Hawthorn learnt a lot about the working conditions and the process involved in open-pan salt making! The class particularly enjoyed the tour by Harry the Innkeeper and worked efficiently in teams to locate Geocaches around the site, using maps. A fantastic day – well done!
To end the week, I had the pleasure of watching the super efforts of everyone in the class perform ‘Harry Potter’ on their brass instruments. I am so impressed by your attitude and effort – a big well done!
