This week Hawthorn class enjoyed a fantastic workshop led by Diane, a Maya archaeologist! During the worksop we: explored a range of Maya artefacts; tried on Maya clothes; learnt about their ball game and studied their culture. This has given us a valuable insight into the ancient Maya civilisation! Well done to everyone for handling the artefacts with care and respect – I was impressed by your attitude throughout.
In English we have been thinking carefully about how and where we use writing techniques; I have been impressed by your writing and your use of personification and metaphor. In maths this week, we have furthered our understanding of equivalent fractions. We have enjoyed using a range of methods to explore and represent this.
Hawthorn class are showing a good attitude in military school and are benefiting from the activities. Well done, keep this up!
