Sycamore had a fantastic last week of half term. The children have worked very hard, and I hope are having a well-deserved break.
In Maths, we have been continuing with subtracting 4 digit numbers, with exchanging (borrowing from next door!). This has been a difficult concept, but the children are working hard to master it! We also made a human abacus to help with our understanding.
In English, we finished our Newspaper report topic. I enjoyed reading some fantastic and exciting newspaper reports, using suspense!
We had a brilliant trip to Chester to enrich our knowledge of the Romans and the Roman Empire. The children were able to have a tour around a museum, dressed up as Romans and learn about the Roman army.
It was also very exciting to see Mr Smith and Mr McKenzie-Owens ‘fight’ as Roman soldiers against each other!
Hope you’re having a fantastic half term! See you Monday!
