This week in the Acorn Preschool, the children have been focused on rehearsing for the Christmas Play.
On Monday the children have helped to make the props.
All through the week, alongside the children of Juniper class, the Acorn children have shown themselves to be superstars! They have listened well, sung all the words and spoken as clearly and confidently as they were able. For all children, this sort of thing can be overwhelming, but when you are 3 & 4, it can be a big deal!
However, if every child has managed to personally achieve something – whether it is a new willingness to wear a costume, to saying their words confidently and clearly, to standing on stage and acting, to joining in with the words to the songs. All the Acorn children have developed in some way through our practices.
Next week, the children will be flung completely into Christmas with craft and stories and songs. The children have been busy ‘writing’ lists this week – taking orders for our dinner! So next week we will be building on this interest, completing letters for Santa and enjoying the story ‘Dear Santa’.
On Friday next week we would like to invite you to a Festive Share a Song session at 11.15am to finish the year! We hope you can make it.
Stars of the day this week were Lola-Rose and Miya.
(Due to the rehearsals – we did not follow out normal routine and allocate a star of the day every day! Back to normal next week!)
