Another brilliant week of learning in Hawthorn Class.
In English this week, the children have used ‘The Promise’ to think about effective character descriptions. They paid particular attention to the way in which character reactions can be an effective tool for portraying a certain character.
In maths this week, the children have used their multiplication knowledge to convert between improper fractions and mixed numbers. They have also used their knowledge of equivalent fractions to compare and under fractions.
In topic this week, the children investigated what life was like in Britain during ‘The Blitz’, we explored the reasons for different cities being bombed and wrote a diary entry about a night spent in an air-raid shelter. Later on in the week, we used our knowledge of Anderson Shelters to create 3D models using recyclable materials.
