Five a Day.
This week Maple Class have been designing and making their own fruit kebabs as part of our Healthy Eating theme. They thought about the way fruits tasted and they enjoyed learning about the different, safe ways of cutting food and practised the bridge and claw grip. We evaluated our designs thinking about what we might change and what went well.
This week we also had the opportunity to see the chicks that have been born in Acorn class! Hopefully we can pop in again next week to see if they have grown!
In English Maple Class have began our story unit on Villains and the children have been learning the story and improving sentences thinking about using different words to interest the reader.
In Maths Maple class have continued with fractions, beginning to look at fractions of amounts (1/2, 1/4, 3/4, 1/3). This can be quite tricky but they have really thought about how we can work out our fractions and they are working super hard and gaining some great understanding of fractions! We will continue this next week as we also look into word problems.
This week we also began thinking about our experiences of seaside holidays as next week we’ll be comparing seaside holidays today with those in the past.
Maple Class have work super hard this week, well done!
