Our Governors often visit to see the children at work, and how they benefit from the positive changes implemented since we became Oak View Academy in 2014.
They chat with the pupils and meet with the school council to discuss ways to make the learning experience even better.
As a result, the school has purchased some additional play equipment for both the Junior and Infant playgrounds.
We have a Local School Board which has replaced the Governing Body and which has the power to monitor the role of the Academy at an operational day-to-day level and review:
- The management and organisation of the Academy
- The implementation of the decisions of the Board and the Executive Headteacher.
- Performance in relation to targets and standards approved by the Board
- The implementation of policies monitoring student welfare and behaviour
- The implementation of policies approved by the Board
- The implementation of all extended school activities.
The School Board will report to NWAT on decisions and will also provide advice and make recommendations to them on issues.
