Acorns love pancakes and babies (but not together)!
This week the Acorn Preschool children have been exploring their love of babies, thinking carefully about recognizing the changes in people as they get older. The children have looked at how we can look after babies, and explored this through their role play. Our book of the week was ‘Peepo’ which explores the world through the eyes of a baby. The children have loved exploring the illustrations from this book, as it is a demonstration of homes in the past.
On Tuesday, Pancake day was well received by the Acorns. They enjoyed mixing, stirring and popping the mixture in the pan, then watching as it cooked, Mrs A tossed and caught the pancakes, then the children ate them up. Our song of the week was ‘Mix a Pancake’ in line with this theme, and though our maths area we looked closely at how we can use balance scales to identify which item is heavier.
The children in Acorns are demonstrating their growing maturity through their positive interactions with each other – through sharing, showing kindness or helping others – we are so proud of how they are developing.
Stars of the day this week were Libby, Rafeef, Ava-Rose, Myleigh and Dominic. Well done to everyone.
