Sycamore class have had a brilliant end to the half term this week. The children have achieved so much so far this year!
In English, the children completed their diary entries from the point of view of a character from our vehicle text ‘The Journey’. The children worked incredibly hard to really consider the emotions of the characters and showing the bodies reacting rather than stating the emotion. With pride, some of the children shared their diaries using intonation and emotion in their voices. I was astounded at their effort and their effective writing outcomes.
In maths this week we have been recapping dividing 2 and 3 digit numbers. We explored multiple processes of division and used concrete apparatus to support our understanding of the maths concept. The children used dienes, part whole models, bar models and place value charts to scaffold their understanding!
In RE this week we focused on how Sikhs celebrate as a community. We also recapped prior learning and vocabulary as part of our retrieval practice. The children explored multiple artefacts and discussed their purpose and how they might be used during celebrations and festivals!
Well done Sycamore. I hope that you all have a lovely half term! ☀️
