This week, Oak Class have been out and about – twice! On Tuesday, we visited Winsford Library as part of Reading Week. Children met with a librarian, had a tour of the library, learnt about everything the service offered and then had the opportunity to explore.
Later in the week, children visited Delamere Forest for a walk around Blakemere. On a beautiful afternoon, we walked the full distance around the mere and even stopped off to see the Gruffalo, who still appears to be self-isolating!

This week, Oak Class received a visit from Mr Montanaro, who is a Spanish teacher at Rudheath Senior Academy. Mr Montanaro will be visiting us each Thursday afternoon from now on as part of Rudheath’s outreach programme and this week he taught the class how to introduce themselves in Spanish.
Additionally, we have been learning about refraction in science, testing out the illusion it creates through an investigation involving water, air and a ‘reversing’ arrow!

This week, Oak Class have been learning about periscopes. We have discovered the theory behind them and then made our own using cereal boxes. As well as this, in English, we have been writing diary entries in the role of Rose Blanche.
