What a brilliant first week back!
It has been a brilliant first week back for Willow class. The children have worked super hard and had many exciting visitors in.
They had a visit from a samba man, who explained how to use the different instruments and then created a piece together. We also had parents’ afternoon when the children created some excellent paintings with a great resemblance to David Ndambuki’s work. The children were also visited by a very talented artist, who worked with them to create a fantastic design using wax.
In maths this week, the children have been working on their tables and applying them to problems. They have been looking at the inverse method and how to use their multiplication knowledge in a division question.
In English, we have been focusing on our new text ‘dragons’, which is a non-chronological report. The children have been looking at what the text is about and what the vocabulary within it means. They used thesauruses to find synonyms for the vocabulary.Next week, the children will be adapting the text to write a NC report of their own.
Well done to the children who received their badges in swimming: Eleanor, Blake and Regan.
Keep up the hard work, Willow
