Castles, Dragons and the British Isles
Maple class have returned and embraced our new theme this term of Dragons and Castles! We began the term by using wax crayon and watercolour to design our own dragons for display and some beautifully coloured creations were made.
In topic Maple class learnt about Queen Elizabeth and George II as part of our history of the British Isles. We have also been looking at the countries within the British Isles and labelled a map.
In Maths we have begun to learn to tell the time and next week we will be learning how to read scales for capacity and temperature.
In English Maple class have produced some wonderful writing based on our story The Dragon Machine by Helen Ward, including setting and character descriptions. Next week we’ll be starting our story with the theme of dragons!
The children have worked incredibly hard this week and I am very proud of many children who are striving to achieve the best for themselves!
