Dancing, discussions and drawing
Welcome back Year 4. We hope that you have had a great half term and a fantastic first week back!
This week sycamore class have immersed themselves into a range of exciting activities.
In English, the children have started to look at the key features of a myth narrative. We have done this by picking apart key structural features and thinking about their purpose and effect. We have been practicing using our new vocabulary as well as practicing lots of different writing techniques through our daily sentence accuracy checks. We will continue to evaluate our model text and build up skills to writing our own myth narratives based on Arthur and the golden rope.
In maths we have started to recap key knowledge from the autumn term. This week our focus was based on place value. The children have explored multiple representations of number.
In our foundation lessons the children have been engaging in music lessons through oak national academy where they have been exploring composing music using body percussion. In art this week we have been looking at the artist Peter De Wint. Our skill focus was drawing techniques as we explored different ways to create a 3D drawing.
