Dingle Dangle Scarecrow…
This week the little Acorns have continued to enjoy singing the rhyme Dingle Dangle Scarecrow and learning the actions to go along with it. The children worked together to create our very own class scarecrow too, who you’ll be able so see proudly displayed in our outdoor area.
The children have also been enjoying our book of the week Fox’s socks, which lead to some super sock counting and sorting.
We began to look at fireworks and bonfires, watching some short video clips of displays and created some amazing art work using cardboard tubes to print firework shapes in the night sky.
Pretty patterns were made in glitter and sand using brushes, sponges and twigs.
The children also worked together to build a pretend campfire using lots of natural resources.
We plan to continue to look at fireworks next week as we know the children will have seen lots more of them over the weekend.
As many of you will be aware I am now more than 28 weeks pregnant and under covid restrictions will no longer be able to work within the setting. I will however continue to work closely with Mrs Eddelston and Mrs Owen with the planning, resources and completing learning journeys until I finish officially for maternity leave.
I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome Miss Latham to the team. Who I know will, with the rest of the team, continue to help make your child’s time in Little Acorns a very happy one.
I am disappointed to have had to finish early, and miss my Little Acorns and team terribly already. It really has been a pleasure to spend each morning with your little ones and get to know you all too. Thank you for your continued support and just for being a great bunch in general!
Have a wonderful weekend.
