First Week as Maple Class
The children have made a fantastic start to being in Year 2 and I am really proud of them!
This week we have talked about teamwork and played team games to get into the spirit. The children worked well together to get the hoops around the circle and helped each other.
In English we have collected a soundscape around school and written poetry about the Sound Collector. We will send to the poet Roger McGough and see what he thinks!
In maths we have made a start on place value and have been learning about tens and ones and what numbers are represented by the pictures and apparatus.
In music we have been exploring with the instruments and made tunes in groups. They were all fantastic and Mrs Hankey and I were very impressed!
Please read with your children every day to help their fluency and talk to them about the book they have read to help their understanding of the story.
Have a great weekend!
