First week back in Maple Class!
We have kicked off the new half term with a brilliant start!
On Tuesday in Forest School we made dens from natural materials and then checked if they were suitable shelters. Everyone had a lovely time in the sunshine!
In English we have written the story of Jack and the Baked Beanstalk as if we were Jack or his mum and we have reviewed the book in case any other classes want to read it too!
In PE we have been doing gymnastics and on Monday we had all the equipment out to really test our gymnastic movement and jumping skills.
In Maths we have started division by grouping objects and we have also started looking at picture graphs. The children have made their own connections between multiplication and division and have enjoyed analysing the data from the picture graphs.
Next week we will be making our own picture graphs about our class.
As part of our science topic about being healthy we had a look at the effect of some different liquids on eggshell. Eggshell is similar to human teeth so we could compare the effects to what might happen to our teeth. From this, the class decided that water and milk were best for our teeth and coke and fruit juice were the worst.
Finally, practising times table rock stars is paying off for Emily-Mai and Noah as they got 2nd and 3rd highest coins earnt and most correct answers in Celebration Assembly this morning! Noah is also our current times table shoot out champion! Well done Emily-Mai and Noah!
Over the weekend please make sure your child has everything they need for residential. The kit list was sent out a few weeks ago.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Coe, Mrs Hankey and Mrs Oakes
