First week in Maple
We have had a busy start to the term already in Maple class. In English we have started looking at Jack and the Baked Beanstalk. The children have made some very interesting predictions based upon things they already know from other stories.
With Forest School this week on Tuesday. This week we collected twigs and branches, chopped wood with an axe and then lit a fire so that we could roast marshmallows over it. They were scrumptious!
In maths we have started multiplication by starting to learn the 2 times table using starburst to help us. We will be using a YouTube video to help us – multiply by 2 by Jack Hartmann. Practise as much as you can at home!
Finally we had the 100% attendance cinema trip this week. There were 8 children from Maple class who went and they had a brilliant time watching the Grinch. I wonder if we can get more children to represent Maple class next time?
Please make sure your child’s homework is completed to include the maths or English task and the spelling practice otherwise they wont be eligible for the end of term reward.
Have a good weekend and read every day!
