This week, Hawthorn class loved taking their English lesson outside. They went to the forest to gather ideas for their new writing outcome – a survival guide. They worked together to find ways in which the environment they were in could provide some of the essentials for survival e.g. rainwater, shelters made from tree branches, food foraged/hunted in the area.
Whilst in the forest, we also took a moment to discuss the importance of being in nature and where our ‘happy place’ in nature is, as part of mental health week 2021.
This week in Maths, Hawthorn class started to explore decimals. They used base 10 to represent tenths, hundredths and thousandths and create different combinations of numbers by changing the number of digits in each place value column.
This week in Art, Hawthorn class enjoyed experimenting with a variety of water colour techniques.
