Giant whale or giant hoax? Sycamore investigate…
Wow! Sycamore class have enthusiastically launched themselves into our new writing topic for this half term. News arrived from the office that it was 50 years ago today that a giant spotted whale was sighted in shores near us. The children were tasked with asking key questions about the article and spotting any clues that would indicate if the story of the giant whale really was true or was a giant hoax! Next week we will be exploring news paper reports and thinking about key vocabulary!
In maths this week, the children have been using their multiplication and division skills to solve word problems involving these operations. The children broke down the concept and picked out the key words that indicated the operation that they had to use.
In music this week the children have been using the glockenspiels. They have been considering the tempo of different songs. On Friday the class started to learn how to play flea, fly, flew. We are looking forward to practicing this song more next week!
