“I will spin your straw into gold”
In English this week Maple class have produced some fabulous creative writing as we came to the end our Villains unit. In Reading and English we have been thinking lots about Villains and Superheroes which the children have enjoyed greatly! We have used this as inspiration for writing our own version of the traditional tale of Rumpelstiltskin and have been working super hard on making our writing better, especially our spelling and punctuation!
In Maths, Maple Class have been doing lots of work on finding fractions of amounts, such as 1/4 of 20, and have done very well! Next week we are going to revisit other Maths such as multiplication and subtraction.
In topic we looked at seaside holidays in the past and now and thought about what they did at the seaside and how people dressed differently, too. We began to look at a new artist, Hokusai from Japan and began creating Great Wave pictures which we’ll finish next week.
Maple class also enjoyed a PE session led by a special visitor, a professional athlete! We did some competitions in the hall. Well done Maple!
