This week, Hawthorn Class have shown a great enthusiasm for their online learning, they have risen to the challenge of becoming independent learners. It has been great to speak to parents and children and hear how well you have been getting on.
In Maths, the children have begun exploring how to calculate perimeter of different shapes. They had used inverse operations to find out missing lengths.
In English, the children have continued to explore this unit’s vehicle text ‘The Lost Book of Adventures’. They put on their detective hats to find and identify the key language features and writer hints of a survival narrative, in preparation for writing their own.
Continuing our ‘Battle of Britain’ topic, pupils have been exploring different aspects of life during the War. Members of Hawthorn Class have been sending in more secret messages using Morse code…, which Miss Hickman has had to decode!
