It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
This week we have been very busy preparing our Christmas play and songs. We have had a very exciting start to December as we have been lucky enough to attend 2 exciting trips with Acorns!
We have been to watch a Christmas Pantomime, as well as being lucky enough to meet Santa and his helpful Elf! The children loved the Pantomime and were fantastic during the performance. The children all received a lovely gift from Santa and were all very polite and grateful for their gift. We have been discussing the meaning of Christmas and Advent and celebrating this daily with our Advent candle and Advent stories.
We have also been preparing our Christmas songs to share with other schools at Chester Cathedral! The children have worked really hard and have shown great enthusiasm towards their play, which is lovely to see. Junipers have had lots of fun preparing, singing and dancing this week!
Thank you to everyone for bringing in items for our Christmas hamper, your support is greatly appreciated!
Home Learning Opportunities:
- Maths: We have been focussing on the numbers 9 and 10, adding and 1 more than.
- English: We have been revising our set 1 initial sounds as we have now completed all Set 1 sounds. We are revising all of the sounds we have learnt to ensure we are all confident with them. We are focussing on CVC words and blending.
- Reading: Please read to your child as much as possible. You can encourage them to spot any sounds or special friends in the reading book. Please encourage the use of ‘Reading Bears’ and please email any photographs you have of this being successful at home so that we can share them as a class.
