Litter Picking and Bulb Planting.
It has been a very busy week for Maple Class and an interesting end to half term. On Tuesday parents and grandparents joined us in class for a Hallowe’en themed art lesson where it wasn’t just the children that enjoyed making 3D pumpkins and witches! On Wednesday Maple Class also had the opportunity to be ‘good citizens’ by doing some all important litter picking and bulb planting. We collected a whopping five bin bags of rubbish from around the school grounds and we realised the importance of picking rubbish up, even if it didn’t belong to you!
Here are some wonderful pictures of our bulb planting:
In English we finished our non-fiction writing and Maple Class enjoyed researching an animal for their writing. In Maths we continued with subtraction and began learning about using the inverse to solve missing number problems.
The children have impressed me with their enthusiasm and efforts to succeed this week and I am looking forward to what the next half term brings.
