Maple get a taste Spain!
This week we have been very busy practising our play. The children are enjoying learning their songs and letting their dramatic sides come out for the rehearsals.
In Forest Schools this week we made snowmen out of log slices and decorated them in our own patterns.
In maths we have continued subtracting and the children are doing a great job and have got really good explanations about what they are doing and why.
In English we have started learning some instructions about how to catch a star. Ask your child what they might need if they wanted to catch a star!
It has also been Spanish week throughout the school and Maple class made their very own non-alcoholic sangria! They had to follow instructions and make sure they had all the right ingredients before leaving it to work the Spanish magic and they got to try it in the afternoon.
Continuing with Spanish week we have started to draw our own cubist portrait in the style of Picasso. The children have done a great job drawing the outline and they will finish off by adding oil pastels next week. I can’t wait to see the results!
We have also had wacky hair and odd socks day, which was brilliant! The children really did come in with some wacky hair and brilliant odd socks!
Finally, this week Maple class have had the best attendance in school and we have won the trophy for the week! Mrs Oakes, Mrs Hankey and I are all very proud! Keep it up and let’s aim for the punctuality award next time too!
Have a brilliant weekend and please make sure you practise the lines for the play!
