We have had a busy week in Hawthorn Class,
In Maths, the children have been investigating prime, square and cube numbers. The week began with a practical activity, which gave children a hands-on opportunity to represent both square and cube numbers physically, using multilink cubes.
In English, the children have been writing their final biography about the life of Henry ‘Box’ Brown. They have worked hard to write in a formal style, informing the reader of the most significant dates and events throughout his life. The children have thoroughly enjoyed exploring the life of this incredibly brave individual and have engaged fully with this story throughout the term.
In Art, the children have been creating rainforest prints inspired by Andy Warhol’s pop-art style. We created rainforest images on foam tiles and then used a roller to spread paint on before printing onto card. They are very proud of their masterpieces.
We hope you all have a well-deserved rest and return in November ready for another action packed half term full of learning!
