Our fantastic families
This week in Juniper class we have continued to learn all about each other, with a focus on our families. We have created our own houses from lollipop sticks, created lovely pictures using different materials and shared photographs of our families and photographs of ourselves as babies.
Junipers have had a fantastic week and have all started settling into the daily routines. They have loved joining in with short PE sessions and exploring outdoors; creating campfire, making birds nests, building with natural resources like Brendan Jamison and using their imagination.
In maths we have been exploring the number 3, focussing on the story ‘Goldilocks and the 3 bears’. Junipers have been reenacting the story, drawing the items that contain 3 of the same thing in the story and playing with characters from the book.
In english we have been writing about our families, drawing pictures and trying our best to think of the initial sounds we hear in words such as ‘mum’, ‘dad’ and ‘me’.
We have continued our investigation into the artwork of Brendan Jamison. This week we have used sugar cubes to investigate the difference of creating sculptures out of cornflakes from last week and sugar cubes this week. The children thought of some fantastic questions and explanations about why it is better to build with sugar cubes. All of the children in Juniper class have loved building and sculpting using sugar cubes, with some children creating pyramids and their own homes.
It has been another fun filled week in Juniper class with every child working extremely hard. I am so impressed at how much effort everyone in Juniper class has been putting in each and every day.
Have an amazing weekend. Have plenty of rest and lots of fun.
