Another great week in Hawthorn class!
Linking in with our new topic, we have been focussing on the artwork of David Hockney and his style of landscape sketching. The children have been investigating his work and trying to replicate it following his techniques. They enjoyed a session of outdoor sketching to capture the landscapes on our doorstep!
In English, we have been working hard to include all aspects of grammar and vocabulary in our shared writing. We have created an engaging character description for a homeless street child, like that in our vehicle text – The Promise.
In Maths, we have been continuing our fractions unit. The children have been adding and subtracting fractions with different denominators, identifying a common denominator before completing the required operation.
