Reporting, writing and creating
Wow! What another brilliant week of fantastic online learning! Sycamore class have been very busy this week engaging with lots of exciting activities on google classroom.
In Maths this week we have been focusing on measurement of mass and volume. We have been focusing on the importance of looking at the intervals between the numbers to work out the scale. The children have also been converting between grams and kilograms as well as between millilitres and litres.
In English we have been focusing on the text ‘Arthur and the Golden rope’. We have annotated the model text and tried to understand the purpose of key features and their effect on the reader. We have started to plan our myth narrative based on Arthur’s adventures. We are planning to use exciting fronted adverbials and expanded noun phrases.
The children have been really engaged with our class novel ‘Queen of the falls’ which is linked to our invention narrative from last term. We read all about Annie Taylor’s adventure. The children created news reports based on the major event that we read about in the story. The children even dressed up as news reports to set the scene.
