It truly has been a fantastic week here in Hawthorn class, we have been very busy with our scientific thinking.
This week kicked off with a science workshop on forces where we set off rockets, made volcanos and even made a ball float in the air (yes, really). We have predicted which material would make the best parachute, made them and then tested them. The results were rather interesting and not what we all thought. We also looked at the phases of the moon this week and created them using oreos! Then today was topped off with the a show involving many different animals, which we were allowed to touch.
In maths we have been adding fractions with the same and different denominators to make improper fractions and even mixed numbers. English this week we have been busy writing our explanation text about our machine.
Next week we have many more exciting things happening.
