This week in Hawthorn, we have enjoyed taking part in our weekly Forest School session, the children had to work effectively as a team and hunt for treasure in amongst the wildlife!

The children have been challenging themselves in Maths this week, tackling the tricky task of rounding 6 digit numbers to the nearest 1000, 10, 000 and 100, 000. They have worked very hard to understand this concept.

In English, we have had a very successful week. Continuing our work based on the text ‘Henry’s Freedom Box’, the children have planned and started to write their own diary recounts. They have shown that they can take great responsibility for their own learning, making sure they have included some key aspects from our writer’s toolkit. We look forward to the finished pieces!

Keep up the good work Hawthorn Class!
