Seasonal Taste Challenge!
We have had a great week in Hawthorn Class; the children have demonstrated a fantastic attitude towards their learning.
In D&T, we have investigated the concept of seasonality and discovered how different foods can be grown, caught and reared. We tried and tasted a range of fruit and vegetables that are currently in season, to determine whether they are more flavoursome if we ‘eat the seasons’ – some of the children even conquered a brussel sprout!
In Maths, the children have begun their multiplication and division topic, starting with developing their knowledge of factors and multiples.
In English, we have been using secondary sources to gather information about the life of fugitive slave, Henry ‘box’ Brown. The children have organised this information into chronological order and have also thought about some effective vocabulary to include in their own biographies about the life of Henry.
We are really excited to embark on our adventure to Ravenstor next week!
