I am so impressed with Sycamore class. They have worked incredibly hard over the past few months. The children have been independent learners. I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing their fantastic work and seeing what they have been up to at home.
In maths this week the children have been recapping their understanding of subtracting 2 4-digit numbers. We have been exploring different methods of subtraction and evaluating the methods which are the most efficient. The children have used pictorial, abstract and concrete materials to consolidate their understanding in this area.
In English we have been exploring different characters in our story ‘The Queen and the apple’. The children have been considering how to effectively describe characters through adjectives, metaphors and similes. We have also started to twist a traditional fairy tale ending by changing the plot and key events.
The whole class have impressed me so much. The children have been independent and resilient learners. Well done Sycamore for remaining smiley and positive!
