Wow what a fantastic week for Sycamore class. I have been thoroughly impressed with how the children have embraced the new way of working and all with smiles on their faces.
In maths this week we have been continuing with our unit on place value. The children have been exploring different representations of 1000s, 100s, 10s and 1s. We have began looking at number patterns and solving the gaps. The children have used their prior learning to help them with this area of learning.
In English this week we have read through our new story. The children have really connected with the story and are eager to write their own ‘Outsider narratives’. This week we have been looking at all of the tools we will need to write an ‘Outsider narrative’.
We have also continued with our topic ‘Rainforests’. The children have written speeches outlining the dangers of deforestation and global warming. The class looked at using statistics and persuasive writing devices to make their speeches heart felt and powerful.
