Sycamore’s adventure with the Minpins
WOW! What an exciting week for Sycamore class! They have blown me away with their commitment to learning! The children have adapted so well to the new normal and I am so proud of them all!
This week we started our new class novel “Billy and the Minpins” by Roald Dahl! We have done lots of exciting activities around the story such as freeze frames, acting out parts of the story with Lego and making characters from the story! The children appear to have enjoyed the story so far! I wonder what will happen to Billy…
The children have continued to do some fantastic biographical writing this week! They have really focused on the use of formal language and using a variety of sentence starters to keep the reader engaged and interested.
In maths this week we have started to look at decimals in terms of money. The children did so well in using their knowledge of decimals in solving addition, subtraction and multiplication problems.
I hope that you have a brilliant Easter break! Please look on our class page for lots of ideas for activities that you could do over the holiday!
Best wishes, Miss Leonard 🙂
