Taken back in time…
Sycamore class have had another exciting opportunity this week, a Viking ‘virtually’ visited our classroom. The children were eager to share their ideas and ask questions about the lives of these invaders and settlers. Through our weekly topic lessons we have been building up a timeline of events in chronological order based on significant events that took place for the Vikings! The children were intrigued to learn all about the ruling of Britain by the Anglo-Saxons during the time of the Viking raids. They were especially eager to hear of the gruesome punishments for crime!
Furthermore, in English this week the children have been collecting ideas for their diary entry based on the story ‘The Journey’. The children have had to really consider the reactions that certain emotions would cause. The children have been using exciting vocabulary and retrieving vocabulary from previous units to make an effect on their reader!
In maths this week the children have been learning all about multiplying 3 digit numbers. We have explored lots of different processes.
Well done Sycamore class.
