Victorian workhouse experience!
Maple Class had the opportunity to visit Weaver Hall museum for a Victorian workhouse experience! We met Mr Dawdle and Master Grimme, who showed us how life would have been in Victorian times for a young child.
Maple class experienced many jobs which Victorian children would have spent their time doing. This included making butter from cream, washing clothes by hand, cleaning chimneys, picking oakum, grinding wheat and rug making.
As part of this experience we also played with Victorian toys such as Jacobs ladder and attended a Victorian lesson! We thoroughly enjoyed our day at Weaver Hall Museum!
