We are back!

After the Easter holiday break we are now back online, continuing our new way of learning.

It has been wonderful to see so many children and families engaged online, uploading work, photographs and videos to show what they have been up to.

The Easter homework set was to complete a short video to explain and show what you have been doing to keep yourself busy and happy at home with your family. It has been amazing to see some fantastic videos of children baking, painting, playing in the garden, learning a new skill such as riding their bike, showing appreciation for key workers by creating posters and much more. Watching all of your videos put a huge smile on my face, I am so proud to see everyone in Juniper class making the most of a difficult situation. Keep it up!

The work that children have been uploading shows how much fun you have had with the focus on  Maths and English this week.

In English we have started to learn about a new story, ‘The Storm Whale’ and it seems like a lot of you enjoyed this story from the pictures uploaded to Google Classroom. The children in Juniper Class have wrote sentences to say how they would help the whale.

The Maths focus this week was to understand the meaning of whole and half and we have had some fantastic pictures posted on Google Classroom and Learning Book. Children have created their own paintings using fruit, food and recycled objects around the house by cutting them in half and printing with them to create an image.

As I have said before, I am very impressed and proud of how hard children in Juniper class are working at home. It is amazing to see such fantastic work being uploaded but it is also lovely to see photographs uploaded to Learning Book showing what you are doing to keep busy. I am so proud of how children are using this time to learn new skills, gain confidence with something they may struggled with before and having lots of fun with their family.

I look forward to seeing more updates on Google Classroom and Learning Book.

Have a lovely weekend.

Miss Latham, Mrs Turner and Mr Lavin.
