We are geographers!
This week Sycamore class have immersed themselves in Geography week. We have been looking at our local area and the land use. Sycamore class had the opportunity to have a special experience of a tour around the town. We looked at the different land marks and their influence on the area. We visited Whitegate way, Vale Royal Abbey, The salt mines, Winsford industrial estate and Winsford train station. The children were using lots of geographical language to describe the areas of land use. Next week we will be using what we have learnt and studied to look more in depth at how our local land scape has changed!
In English the class have been participating in a shared write of an information report. We have been researching and looking at the key features in an information report. Next week the children will be writing their own.
In maths the children have been looking at equivalent fractions. Adding and subtracting fractions. Sycamore class has the opportunity to show their understanding through cutting cakes into fractions!
