Welcome back Cedar Superstars
What a great first week back Cedar! We’ve been busy doing lots of things from learning days of the week, lost and found stories to making shapes in gymnastics!
This week we welcomed Mrs Atherton into Cedar Class and the children have really enjoyed working with her this week.
In maths some of us have been improving our shape knowledge whilst others focused on days of the week and months of the year. I have been very impressed with your reasoning skills. Keep practising these things at home.
In English we have been learning the lost and found story ‘This is the Bear’. The children have really enjoyed learning the story with some fun actions and picking out the rhyming words.
We started our new topic on ‘What things are made of’ by focusing on toys. The children let us know what they already knew and what they want to know and can’t wait to learn things such as ‘how are teddy bears made’ and ‘what are toy cars made from’.
On Monday please can children bring in their favourite toy (a soft toy or toy car or something similar) ready to discuss what they are made of.
The children particularly enjoyed our PE this week. In gymnastics we focused on making straight, curved and tucked shapes and we had our first swimming lesson of the year which is always a favourite! Well done to you all for you hard work and great behaviour.
Thank you to all those parents who came to see their child’s work on Friday.
