What a week…
This week we have welcomed back some of the children from Juniper class. As some children have started back at school this week, some children have continued with their learning at home.
In school we have had so much fun playing, talking and sharing stories and feelings with our friends and teachers. We have had lovely circle times with each other; talking about what we have enjoyed at home, what we found difficult about lockdown and what makes us happy being back at school. It has been amazing to see the children settle in so quickly after such a long time away from school. Myself and Mrs Turner have said every day without fail how much fun we have had with the children and how lovely it is to reconnect, share stories, slowly settle back into a routine with them and most importantly laugh as much as we have with them!
The children that have been in Juniper class have made daily comments to myself and Mrs Turner that have made us understand and appreciate how much fun they are having and how happy they are. One comment that put a huge smile on both of our faces was from a child who said “Miss Latham, I have had the best day in my whole life today!”
While we have been having lots of fun in school, I have had some amazing photographs in of children at home that have also been having lots of fun at home. It is lovely to see photographs of children still continuing to try their best, complete work and activities and most importantly still have a huge smile on their face. After seeing photographs, speaking to parents and hearing from children it has been lovely to keep the strong engagement we have with parents in Juniper class and receive such fantastic photographs and statements through Learning Book and Google Classroom. We have been sharing the work and photographs parents have uploaded online with the children in school so that they can see what their friends at home are up to. The children in school were so excited when they could see the photographs go up on the screen of all their friends in Juniper class. The children in class were very impressed with the work and photographs that were uploaded, well done everyone!
Thank you for continuing to send in photographs, engage on Google Classroom and keep in touch with staff. Please keep up the fantastic engagement and hard work!
Have a fantastic weekend!
Miss Latham, Mrs Turner and Mr Lavin.
