What’s happening in our playground?!
This week something exciting has been happening in the infant playground! Cedar class guessed the men might be building a tree house because the legs were tall and it was being built up high! They were also getting excited about the teepees and coming up with ideas of what they could use it for, some thought it would make a great den!
In English we have been planning our stories, looking at journeys through a city and outer space and thinking about what we might see on our journey. There were lots of ideas flowing and the children enjoyed putting on the story-telling cape and reading aloud their invented stories!
This week in Maths we have been practising counting in steps of 2 and sequencing our numbers, matching numerals with objects.
In topic we have been looking into hot and cold places, naming a variety of animals and thinking about questions for our Zoo trip on Monday, such as: Why do some animals live in big spaces and others live in small spaces?
Finally, we had a big focus on friendship this week as the children wrote what they liked about each other on post-it notes and stuck them on display – this will be ongoing in Cedar class as we continue to learn how to develop valuable friendships!
